Advanced Tests to Assist in Prevetion
Unlike other heart centers, the Healthy Heart Center is focused on the prevention rather than emergency heart care. We encourage you to be proactive about your heart health and to take steps to prevent problems before they arise. To assist in identifying heart problems, we offer the following tests in addition to cholesterol tests:
C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
C-Reactive Protien is a blood test that measures the level of inflammation (irritation) in the body.
Homocysteine
Homocysteine is a building block of protein.
LDL Particle Size
LDL is the "bad" cholesterol that clogs blood vessels.
LPA
Lp(a) is a fat combined with a blood clotting stimulant.
